the very end who the real killer was and I loved it!" Stormi, Lightning Book Promotions
"This is a great read. Mary Firmin has the ability to write a story that retains
your interest, and never flags. Her descriptive abilities are first rate. You'll
enjoy this book if you are not squeamish." Dr. Irwin C. Shiell
"I loved this book! Each character was expertly developed and the imagery was
vivid. It is a thrilling page turner with twists and turns that ends with a
bang! It is hard to believe that this is Mary Firmin's first novel, I will
certainly be waiting for her next!" Dazeldine
"A fast paced, well written narrative. A great tale of duplicity, seduction and
horror. Always interesting and captivating, though not for the fainthearted or
queasy! A satisfying and informative read leaving the reader as breathless as
the survivors." William Cowper

This week with Mary
Hi Friends,
Another interesting week. As you can see the Video Book Trailer was put on the site. I hope you like it. I love the music. A dear friend of mine called this week who was in a writer's group with me here in the Desert. Her name is Doris Parmmet, and she has written 12 best-selling novels. She had just finished reading Deadly Pleasures and she loved it. She is sending me a review which I will post as soon as I receive it. This week the Public Relations Agent will be sending out press releases and I am hoping for a good response. I am appearing in a Book Expo at the Rancho Mirage Public Library and have several interviews pending. I will keep you all posted on all the latest events. Have a great week.
Thought for the day:
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass -- it's about learning to dance in the rain.

An interview and great Clarion review!
There a couple of things worth mentioning today, First up I was interviewed on Books, Movies, Reviews. Oh my! I would love for you to check it out!
And the second thing is the most exciting thing I want to tell you about. I received a five star review from Clarion Reviews!! Here is a small excerpt from the review:
"Firmin writes more like a seasoned storyteller than a debut novelist, making good use of her personal experience as a yacht club member and author of a California society column to create sympathetic nuanced portraits of the wealthy who frequent such clubs while simultaneously poking fun at their eccentricities. All of the characters have good points and foibles, complex back stories, and reasons to keep readers rooting for them. Megan’s charm and pluck, insecurities, money troubles, and battle to stay alcohol-free make her an appealing, well-rounded protagonist. The action in the story comes fast and furious, alternating between sexy and lethal, sometimes straddling both extremes at once. Although the graphic descriptions of bondage torture may make some squirm, these detailed depictions of the seedy side of the bondage lifestyle make the gruesome murders all the more chilling." Jill Allen, Clarion Reviews
So many great reviews are coming in for Deadly Pleasures!

This week with Mary
Happy New Year to everyone. May you find Joy, Love and Success in 2012. Last year was a sad one for me since I lost my husband. I am now trying to recover and throw myself into the book. Deadly Pleasures' Publicity Campaign will begin on Jan 16th and 3000 Press Releases will go out to radio, TV, and magazines looking for interviews. I am hoping we can boost our sales and draw recognition to the book. Everyone who has read it seems to like it even the men, which I found very interesting and exciting. In fact, the Kirkus reviewer recommended Deadly Pleasures as a selection for both men and women. I attended my first Palm Springs Writers Guild meeting in a long time on Saturday and the speaker was wonderful. Jim Kremer who wrote "1001 Ways to Market Your Books" gave us lots of interesting and workable tips. I hope you all continue to follow my blog site and I will try to make this fun, interesting and informative for you. I plan to buy Jim's book and I will let you know if I can recommend it to you writers out there. Thanks again, Mary

Description of Deadly Pleasure:
Megan Riley has bigger things to worry about than the fact that her neighbor has just been found dead.
Her engagement has just ended, and she is once again on a quest to find Mr. Right—or at least Mr. Right Now. Tired of emotional ties and ready for a new adventure, Megan and her three best friends make a fateful decision. They hire hunky stripper Michael Harrington as their timeshare boytoy—unaware he is the prime suspect in a series of gruesome murders. Suddenly, they find themselves involved in a complicated murder investigation led by a handsome detective who is focused only on finding the twisted serial killer before he strikes again. But who will be the next to die? Megan, the hardworking real estate agent; newly divorced Kathleen; Alex, married to a wealthy businessman; or Rachel, the spurned wife of a hot Hollywood screenwriter?
Following her own investigation, Megan takes a wild ride through L.A.'s bondage parlors, hidden sex clubs, and the extravagant lifestyles of the rich and famous; soon she discovers that her quest for adventure has abruptly transformed into a dangerous game of life and death.
