New review of Deadly Pleasures from an author!

Mary Firmin’s titillating debut thriller Deadly Pleasures keeps the reader engrossed from start to finish. The author must have asked herself, “Why should men have all the fun? Why shouldn’t women enjoy the services of a boy toy?” The answer is a resounding yes!

Firmin’s deftly plotted mystery tosses real-estate agent Megan Riley into a world populated with a serial killer, bondage clubs, a skunk of a former boyfriend, a handsome hunk detective, while keeping up with her three rich female friends at a local yacht club. After these intrepid females hire a gorgeous boy toy, dead bodies appear with frightening regularity. Twists and turns sneak up on the reader. All signs point to involvement in sexual bondage. What do the women really know about the boy toy? What’s Megan’s role in helping the detective?

Deadly Pleasures doesn’t rely on gimmicks. Firmin writes with authority. Fully developed characters keep the story moving. While the setting is a yacht club for the wealthy, readers can relate to their universal problems. This reviewer hopes Mary Firmin gives us a follow-up book soon.
